Round 3 saw a 5-5 split of the ten boards, leaving the US holding a razor-thin 1-point lead headed into the final round.  It wasn't enough, as China scored 6/10 in the final round to defend their title from last year.  Final Standings: China 20.5 - USA 19.5 [Men's: USA 13.5 - China 10.5; Women's: China 6.5 - USA 1.5; Junior: USA 4.5 - China].

IM Guy West won on tiebreaks over IM Michael Gluzman. Both won their last round games to finish a half-point ahead of WIM Arianne Caoili. Caoili, just 15 years old, achieved two title norms: WGM & IM.
