SuperAjedrez Reviewed by Diego Acosta, May 7, 2003 Well, this is the first time that I take on the task of evaluating a website devoted to my passion and most important hobby: Chess. First of all I like internet websites that are clear and that allow you to see clearly the contents. In that sense SuperAjedrez passes with flying colors. The first impression that I got was that of a well built website with valuable information. As I am an eternal chess student and I wish to learn and clicked at the link "School" (Sp. Escuela) from superajedrez to learn something new and evaluate the didactic section of the website. Oops! The webpage has links in yellow that are very hard to read. Once I locate the link "Enter" (Sp. Entrar) I proceed with my learning adventure. Oh! It may sound ridiculous but how many chess websites forget about the rudiments of chess? Well, this website doesn't forget and it has clearly shown the rules of chess, how to read a game in different languages and a link to play against a chess program. Very impressed, I proceed with the endings link. Interesting! The webpage is quite thorough and it shows
endings by Kasparian. Ah! It has been a long time since I saw an ending
by Kasparian. My idea is to enjoy any artistic ending. And it is
this one: White to play and win... The tactical resource is quite pretty but I am looking for something less esoteric. I click another link: and I see a nice pawn ending. Well, I can see that there's lots of material to be reviewed so I will just move on and state that: The school section of superajedrez is very good and organized. The fact that website has the minimum elements to play chess indicates that the site has been built with lots of care. One of the most important things in a chess website is their contributors pool. How about a website with five IM's, one FM, and three GM's? Fantastic, isn't it? Well, superajedrez has such a superb cast among their columnists. Then I observe: GM Marcel Sisniega. How is that? One of the heroes of my youth still writing? I couldn't resist reading one of his columns to remember one of the great players from Latin America. But, oh well, I could stay hour after hour browsing this website. To summarize: Superajedrez is a website in Spanish that posses everything a good chess website must have: - Prestigious columnists I know this is not going to be the last time I will visit Superajedrez.com. I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to this website.
