[ 2.Kc4 doesn't accomplish anything after 2...Kd6 3.Kd4 and we're right back where we started.] 2...Kd7 3.Kd5 White takes the opposition again! 3...Ke7 Black has to break opposition again. 4.Kc6 Outflanking. 4...Ke6 Now White has to be careful not to let Black get too close to the pawn. 5.d4 advancing the pawn and preventing ... Ke5. 5...Ke7 6.d5 [ 6.Kc7 just wastes time after 6...Ke6 7.Kc6 Ke7 and we're back where we started.] 6...Kd8 7.Kd6 Opposition! 7...Kc8 Breaking opposition. 8.Ke7 Outflanking. 8...Kc7 And now the pawn marches forward. 9.d6+ Kc8 10.d7+ Kc7 11.d8Q+ And the rest is a basic mate. |
