Discovered attack - the hard way! White threatens mate on h7
with the combined work of the queen & knight. Meanwhile, after
the knight moved away the heretofore 'hidden' bishop on g2 now also
threatens his counterpart on b7.
The thing that makes
discovered attacks so deadly is when the piece that moves also creates
a threat, a second threat that the opponent can only choose between.
In this position Black has no choice, she must protect against the
mate.
1...Qxg5 2.Bxb7

So far it's been an even exchange, but now Black realizes that her
rook is trapped on a1, and she has no way to save the exchange.

White is an exchange ahead (rook for a minor piece, in this case the
black knight), enough to win the ending, maybe. There's still a
lot of chess left to be played, but this is the line that gives White
a tangible advantage, and the best chance of winning.
