It turns out the knight wasn't really pinned after all, as White threatens mate (Rg8), made possible because of the knight interfering with the black rook's defense of g8.

1...Rxf8

Black can also try 1...Qxf8 but 2.Rg8+ removes the guard of the f6 square.
