White takes advantage of the fact that 1...Qxb5 is met by 2.c4









Analysis Diagram: after 2.c4

2.c4 attacks the black queen directly, while discovering an attack by the b2-bishop against g7, which was already under pressure from White's rook-g1.  Black makes the best of a bad choice - 2...g6 3.cxb5 and White's material advantage is enough to win.

In the line above, after 1...Qxb5 2.c4, the tactical point is that 2...Qb4 loses to 3.Rxg7+ Kh8

4.Rg8+

Double-check - Black must move his king, so...

4...Kxg8 5.Rg1 mate!

1...g6 2.Qxb6 Rxb6 3.Rd5








White dominates, materially and positionally.
