Taking the rook gets Black mated one move faster than the main line.  1...Kxh7 2.Qh2+ Kg7 3.Qh6 mate.  Whoopee.

2.Qh2

This zwischenzug sets up the rest of the play.  It's tough to see "quiet" moves like this when contemplating playing the rook sacrifice.

2...Kxg5 3.Qh4+ Kg6 4.Qh6 mate
