Prehistory of the game:

5-23-2007
Fellow chesschatters, A couple of years ago several chesschat members played a "rotation" game, alternating moves. Here is an account of that game: http://www.didymus7.com/nost/rotationgame.htm.  Would anyone be interested in taking part in another game? I think that this time only 3 or 5 players should take part, so that moves are made quicker. - Graham "Mad Aussie" Clayton

I would, I played on the first one so I know how it works - Weldon MacDonald

Wow, what a flash from the past! Graham, thanks for stirring up the memories, I enjoyed that experience greatly. It was especially beneficial to "listen" to everyone else's ideas and analysis as the game progressed, and to be forced to put your own thoughts into words. The play may not have been at a particularly high level, but that didn't diminish the interest of the game, I don't think. I'm in! - David Surratt

5-24-2007
What are the rules exactly? I read my mail on a pretty much daily basis, so I could participate if you like. I understand there are more people in the group than the few who normally post responses. - Greg T.

id give it a go.... - grobler2001

Fellow chesschatters, The following 4 members have shown an interest in taking part

Weldon MacDonald
David Surratt
Greg Turner
Dave "Grobler 2001"

If I join in that will make 5 players. With an odd number of players each player will make a White move in the game, followed by a Black move. David, Is there any chance that the Chessville site could "host" the game?  Each move and comments could be posted there, so that there is a continuous record of the game. I will create a schedule of which player will make each move and post that at the beginning of next week. Then we can get started! - Graham "Mad Aussie" Clayton

Fellow chesschatters, Here is the schedule of moves for the rotation game:

White #1 Weldon
Black #1 David S
White #2 Greg
Black #2 Dave
White #3 Graham
Black #3 Weldon
White #4 David S
Black #4 Greg
White #5 Dave
Black #5 Graham
White #6 Weldon
Black #6 David S
White #7 Greg
Black #7 Dave
White #8 Graham
Black #8 Weldon
White #9 David S
Black #9 Greg
White #10 Dave
Black #10 Graham

And so on till the game is finished. Weldon, will you do the honour of making White's 1st move, and give reasons why you chose that move? Could you also mention who is to make the next move as well. That should eliminate any confusion and lengthy delays. - Graham "Mad Aussie" Clayton
