Solution

I found this fragment in Chernev & Reinfeld's venerable The Fireside Book of Chess, wherein they say that Krogius won this ending with a pretty underpromotion followed by mate.

1...Rxc3 2.g8Q Nd2+ 3.Ka1 Rc1+ 4.Rxc1 b2+ 5.Ka2 bxc1N+  OK, ok.  I know 5...bxc1Q wins too, but it's not as fast and not as pretty.  6.Kxa3 Nc4#  Krogius's opponent helps him out with his last move, but loses just as surely to 6.Ka1 Ndb3+ 7.Kb1 a2+ 8.Kc2 [8.Kb2 a1Q+ 9.Kc2 Qa2+ 10.Kc3 (10.Kd1 Qe2#) 10...Qd2#]; 8...a1Q and Black need only escape check to win.  Here Fritz says all lines lead to mate, and I believe it!
