On Women Appearing in Chess Tournaments....
Geoff harks back to the good old days
Look at them.

I mean really look at them.

What a wonderful sight it is
seeing these beautiful girls walking up
and down the aisles at chess tournaments.
And how refreshing.
In the old days in between moves defending a Ruy Lopez you had
nothing
else to do but count the flecks of dandruff on your opponents
shoulders.

The music of their laughter
fills the analysis room replacing the
mumbling and moaning of men players analysing a game.
And no more the clammy stench
of body odour.
Now the occasional sweet aroma of Chanel No.5 fills the air…
.…I have a wee joke.
Giuoco Piano players wear
Gucci by Gucci and Pure Poison by
Christian Dior is worn by those whose ‘Desire’ is to grab a poisoned
pawn.
How good are they?
Do not be fooled by their
young sweet faces.
These girls can play chess and know their Alekhine.

It beats me how they do it.
They come to the board looking beautiful and all booked up.
Rook endings take on a whole
new meaning when you watch
it being flawlessly played by a very attractive girl.
Sadly in my day we never had
girl chess players.
Well OK we had one or two but
they were certainly never any good at Rook endings.
Ah….finished, your round I believe.
