An Alekhine's Parrot Exclusive Exposé, April 1, 2007

'There is only one Polgar sister'
– A review of a forthcoming book and television program
by Paul Truong, Hardly Simple books, UK
Exclusively Distributed Worldwide by Chessville.Inc.

Subtitled:  Outing "Szuzu", a new chess book by Paul Truong, the apparently dedicated Vice-President of Susan Polgar Center, has proved treacherous, and in a forthcoming program with Larry King will blown the whistle!  Advance release clips from the program will be sensational in the chess community, though it is doubted anyone else cares.

Polgar’s Asian-aide, has written an expose to be first published in print by Hardly Simple books in the UK, with a forward by L. Evans.

"I've seen the masks; I've touched the make-up; I got it on my jacket" said the venerable American GM who was interviewed from his Reno, Nevada home, and while answering King unconsciously brushed his sleeve the whole time and was heard to mumble "Fischer never used make-up."

THE DEEP HISTORY

Evans wrote the forward, and an ex-CL Editor wrote the retrospective background, or the  backwards, I suppose you could call it.  Satellite transmission showed Lawrence H. [‘Larry’] Parr, at lunch somewhere in downtown Kuala Lumpur, telling King about the origin of a perceived Maoist threat to the West, and of ‘percipient anticipation of Chinese imperial ambitions, just as the Russians had done 30 years before’ said Parr, who also jibed how little his feast was costing him, and how what was always a joke got seriously out of hand by people ‘believing it, and bloviating on it’, until the myth of the ‘The Polgar Sisters’ came to be taken as real.

Some of us have known this open secret a long time - I suppose one originally wanted to support women's chess as a bulwark against the Russians' hegemony after the demise of Fischer, and after the unconscionable betrayal by Kissinger and Nixon in China, the American intellectual and Presidential advisor, Bill Buckley said he would finance it from the proceeds of his then popular Firing Line television program."

Several e-experts [how young they look these days!] appraised King on the necessary expertise in ‘ninja-photoshop techniques’ that explains Truong's long-time deceit in showing '3' sisters.  They thought he had learned these techniques in Java.

Susan Polgar's whose real name appears to be Edna Szabo-Menchik, granddaughter of the famous British player, and her father, some say, was Botvinnik himself, though this is less certain.

CHESSVILLE WON’T BE SILENCED!

Threats of lawsuits are already flying around, and being multiplied by counter suits.  Some strenuously deny these facts including US board member ‘Ishi’ Sloan, a creditable witness, who says he visited the Polgar’s home in Hungary, and thought it odd at the time that all 3 never appeared at once.

Chessville itself is named in a suit with Hardly Simple publishing for $7.5million - and CJA president Jerry Hanken appears as an unlikely supporter of Brit GM Nigel Short writing in the Sunday Guardian, who are both "outraged - gutter journalism by Truong, retailed by anything-goes-Chessville.  I would never write for it."  “Ethics ain’t Chessville’s strong point,” said Hankin, who should know.

Ray Keene, OBE, a highly paid Chessville columnist, has resigned his position, stating in clipped terms that he will expose Chessville’s editorial practices in the International Herald Tribune and the London times, where he has columns.  Hundreds of other letters have poured in demanding to be removed from the subscription list – though this has not seemed to have much effect on Chessville’s publisher, who on the way to the Bill Mayer Show cheekily said, ‘Good Riddance to all of them, the money is pouring in. Pouring!  And, we have the movie rights.

ALL OVER FOR POLGAR

Polgar's popularity has obviously been waning since her Olympic victory and Silver medal for US, and according to one source she has become all too vulgarly American, and this desperate publicity, it seems will keep her in the headlines for years to come, and keep her in emeralds too!

While “Susan Polgar” often attends events ‘for free’ there is rumoured to be a private emerald collection which she is careful never to be photographed wearing.

Now – the real story must be how remarkable a player she really is – appearing sometimes in the guise of Judit [who is conveniently disappeared having ‘another baby’], and also as Sophia Polgar [who had to be retired from active play early ‘and sent abroad’ after a FIDE investigation threatened to expose who she really was.]

SAD, IF ONLY…

While these stories may shock the chess community for a week or two – until the next cheating scandal, the joke has surely rebounded onto Edna Menchik, aka Szuzsu Polgar, Judit Polgar, Sophia Polgar, so that if she had only been content to play as plain Edna, then she would be famous in her own right.

Part II - The Rest of the Story!
